Ruby E. Brown

Ruby E. Brown, 89, formerly of Topeka, passed away, Friday, March 14, 2003 at a Rogers, Arkansas Nursing Center.

She was born in Hoisington KS May 13, 1913 the daughter of J.M. and Esther Mae Knutsen Banie. She was homemaker and housewife. She moved to Topeka from Grand Island, NE and lived here for 43 years. Past President of the Topeka Newcomers Club. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church. She was married to Floyd "Brownie" Brown, he preceded her in death November 11, 1992.

Survivors include One Son: Tom Rogers Bella Vista, AR

One Daughter: Virginia Vasquez Bella Vista, AR


four grandchildren, Two great grandchildren


Funeral Services will be held at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel Monday, March 17, 2003 at 11:00AM. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Brown will lie in state from 1:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday, March 16, 2003 where a visitation will be held from 7:00PM to 8:30PM that evening.
