Ruby M. Davis, 86, of Topeka, passed away, Friday June 1, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born February 25, 1921 in Rossville, Kansas the daughter of Dewey and Florence Countryman. Ruby was a 1939 graduate of Rossville High School and was Valedictorian of her class.
She worked several years at Marling's Furniture business office. Most of her work experience then followed as a receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. G. M. Hassur until retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Seabrook Congregational Church. Ruby enjoyed playing bridge and square dancing.
She married Dale Davis June 1, 1940. He survives. Other survivors include two sons and their wives, Dale A. Davis, Jr. and Carol, Clayton, CA; Wayne Davis and Roxie, Topeka; one sister, Vena Mae Thompson, Delia, KS; and five grandchildren, Terri Davis, Emeryville, CA; Jeffrey Davis, London, England; Jerry Davis, Concord, CA; Tracy Davis, Phoenix, AZ; and Jamie Cooper, Topeka.
Mrs. Davis donated her body for Anatomical Study at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Memorial services will be held 11:00am Saturday June 9, 2007 at the Rossville United Methodist Church, 411 Pearl, Rossville, KS 66533. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
