Roy Stane
Roy A. Stane, 92, Topeka passed away, Saturday,March 12 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He was born May 12, 1912 in El Paso, TX the son of Roy and Villa Ardoin Stane.
In the early 1940's, Roy went to work for the A.T.& S.F. Railroad and before coming to Topeka was promoted to Construction Engineer for the West Coast lines. In 1967, he became the Manager of Research for the A.T.&S.F Railroad in Topeka, retiring in 1983. An avid computer buff, he loved his family and home and continued to live independently until his death.
Roy married Paula Marie Whitehead on October 19, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died Nov. 18, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharee Stane Moore, Wichita, KS; a son, Robert Stane, Pasedena, CA; three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Private services will be at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cememtery.
Mr. Stane will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
In liue of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be sent to the Pregnancy Crisis Center in Wichita Inc. 1040 North West Street Wichita, KS 67203.
