Roy Melvin Casner, 84, of Topeka, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
Roy was born on June 29, 1931 in Topeka, the son of Claud and Lorena (Lampton) Casner.
Roy was married to Vera Jane (Wheeldon) Casner on January 19, 1952 in Topeka and they were married for 63 years.
He loved chasing trains and had numerous other hobbies. He loved the outdoors including camping, fishing and hunting. He worked at Topeka Foundry and Iron Works for forty years and he loved his job.
Roy is survived by his wife, Vera Casner of Topeka; daughter, Donna Jean Wells of Kiefer, OK; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, and three daughters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 21 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
Roy will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday, November 20 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
