Roy G. Haynes, 54, of Topeka, passed away Saturday January 1, 2005.
He was born September 16, 1950 in Topeka.
He attended Highland Park High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a disabled veteran of the Viet Nam War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998.
He married Marilyn Studebaker on June 9, 1972 in Topeka. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Danny and his wife Michelle of Hartford, KS; a daughter, Christina Haynes of Topeka; one brother, Glen Haynes, Aurora, CO; two sisters, Rose Reynolds and her husband Paul of San Antonio, TX and Bonnie Sampson of Clinton, Ohio; two grandsons, Hunter Haynes and Isaac Miranda; and a granddaughter, Raquel Miiranda, and thirteen nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Cremation is planned. The family will greet friends and relatives from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday January 5, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 6 at 1:30 p.m. with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
