Rosetta Mae Bindel Casselle, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025.
She was born October 28, 1936, in Horton, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Peck) Bindel. She graduated from Hiawatha High School.
Rosetta married John William Casselle on July 11, 1954 in Hiawatha, KS. They had two children, Ben and Kim.
Rosetta was employed by the Topeka VA Hospital as a Payroll Clerk. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering and worked at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. She also helped as a church Secretary at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, of Topeka and enjoyed volunteering when she could. Rosetta was also a member of Prime Timers and the Shepherd Center.
Rosetta adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to have family get togethers, reunions and celebrating the holidays together. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and skiing, especially at Lake Perry. She also had a knack for traveling and do so often with her loved ones. Rosetta enjoyed bowling, playing cards and gardening in her spare time. She had a love for music and loved to play the piano. She was an avid Elvis fan.
She leaves behind her children, Ben Casselle and Kim Geist; her grandchildren, Tracee Wyatt and Amber Rouviere; and great grandchildren, Jaelynn Madison and Link Olsson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Casselle; her parents; great grandchild, Sora Olsson; siblings, Wilbur Bindel and Joyce Adcock and her beloved dog, Gizmo. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Leonard and Evelyn Bindel and her beloved dog, Lady, that was her and John’s first dog.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st St, Topeka. Her family will greet friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, KS at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 Memorial contributions are suggested to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720 or to Trinity Presbyterian Church 4746 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66604.
