Rosemary Beth McCormick, 71, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 14, 2006.
Rosemary was born on October 18, 1934 in Leighton, IA, the daughter of Andrew and Edna Barnes. She graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS obtaining a Bachelor and Master of Science. She taught at Auburn-Washburn School District for over 30 years.
Rosemary married Max McCormick and they had three children, Jon, Mark, and Candace.
She was a member of D.A.R.; American Association of University Women; Cypress Ridge Women's Golf Association; was the past president of the Eastgate Tenants Association of Harlingen, TX; and was the past president of the Mulvane Women's Board.
She is survived by Max, of the home; sons, Jon McCormick of Pittsburg, KS, Mark McCormick of Stevenson, WA, daughter, Candace Ford of Stevenson, WA; and three grandchildren, Adam, Allison, Alexandrea "Alex" McCormick.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCormick will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 17th at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, KS. She will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening. Burial will be on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, IA. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, Kansas 66601-1653.
