Roselle Endlich, 98, Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Topeka, Kansas, passed away December 1, 2002 at Villa St. Joseph where she had resided the past 6 years. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel in Topeka, Kansas at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Entombment will be in the Mt. Hope Mausoleum.
Roselle was born June 5, 1904 in New York City. She was the eldest of three sisters born to Isadore and Sophie Dauer. She attended Pratt Institute in New York. In 1927 she wed Harry Endlich and moved with him to Topeka, Kansas where she helped him manage Harry Endlich's, a retailer of women's fashion clothing and accessories. She was a co-founder of Beth Shalom Temple in Topeka as well as a founder and past president of the Temple Sisterhood.
She was an active suporter and volunteer in many civic activities including the Topeka Philharmonic, Friends of the Library, Helping Hands, Board of Topeka Symphony Society, the YWCA, and the Clair Tree Major Players Board during the 65 years she lived in Topeka, Kansas. She was a charter member of the Shawnee Country Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Lea Endlich, Overland Park, KS; a son, Harold Endlich, Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren, Susan Freeman, Lisa Endlich, Eric Endlich, Steve Swartzman, Julie Krop, and Keith Endlich; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, and a most generous and loving spirit. We will miss her deeply.
