OBITUARY: Rose Marie Dodd
Rose Marie "Muzzy" Dodd, 77, of Topeka, died Fri., Jan. 18, 2008, at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1931, at Westmoreland, the daughter of Cloyde M. and Rose M. (Goodman) Henderson. She graduated from Wheaton High School.
Rose Marie was a retired government employee. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Luther Poteet and they were divorced. In 1972, she was married to Leslie H. Dodd in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1984.
Surviving are 2 sons: Victor Poteet (Doris) and Guy W. Poteet (Mary) both of Westmoreland; a step-son: Leslie Dodd (Jane) of Topeka; a step-daugther: Kay Mitzen of Topeka; her companion-caregiver: Nit Poteet of the home; 3 sisters: Fern Spaulding, Shirley Neal, and Carolyn Kinion all of Topeka; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Mon., Jan. 21, 2008, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st, Topeka. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Rose Marie will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday, at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc. of Kansas, 4300 SW Drury Lane, Topeka, KS 66604-2419 or the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
