Ronald "Gene" Schrock, 82, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012.
He was born August 5, 1929 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Everett Earl and Velma Gertrude (Simpson) Schrock. He was a 1947 graduate of Topeka High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Schrock was employed by Montgomery Elevator Company for 35 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local No. 12 of Kansas City, MO.
He was a life member of the Orient Lodge No. 51 of A.F&A.M. of Topeka, and a member of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, of Kansas City, KS.
Gene married Eva J. Jackson on September 27, 1961 in St. Joseph, MO. She survives. Other survivors include two children, John (Debi) Schrock, and Cindy (Don) Schneider, all of Topeka; a step-daughter, Martha (Ted) Eve, Olathe; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, William Schrock, North Carolina and Vivian (Jim) Montgomery, Kansas City, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Jackie Schrock.
Gene was an avid woodworker and clockmaker.
Funeral ceremonies will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
