Ronald Edward Huhs, 54, Topeka, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at his home.
He was born Nov. 9, 1950 in Topeka, the son of Ivan F. and Bernadene M. Biegert Huhs. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School and attended Washburn University.
He served in the US Navy from 1969-1972. Following his discharge, he entered the construction trade in Topeka, and later joined TWC Construction Company of Willmar, Minnesota. He returned to Topeka in 2004.
In 1975 he married Cynthia F. Greer where together they had a son and two daughters. They later divorced and he married Bonnie Lyn Switch of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on Oct. 21, 2000 in Minnesota. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Benjamin Jacob Huhs and wife, Danielle, Hutchinson; two daughters, Jessica Renee Huhs, Miami, MO, and Kelli Jean Huhs, St. Louis; mother, Bernadene Fuqua, Topeka; two sisters, Dianne Musso and Eileen Boyd, both of Topeka; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judith E. Griggs on May 29, 2001.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
He will lie in state after 9:00 am Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka 66604.
