Roger L. Pagenkopf, 69, of Topeka, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2011. He was born October 30, 1941 in Topeka, the son of Francis L. and Marietta N. (George) Pagenkopf. He graduated from Goddard High School in Wichita in 1959. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Elite Guard.
Roger married Judith Fowlkes on June 29, 1963 in Omaha, NE. She survives. He obtained his Bachelors of Arts from Washburn University in 1974. Roger was an insurance adjuster for 35 years for several companies and retired from Kansas Farm Bureau. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. His greatest love besides his family was playing golf and being a KU Jayhawk fan.
Roger was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Other survivors beside his wife includes their three daughters; Stacey (Gary) Ostrom of Concord, NC, Cynthia (Stuart) Jones of Topeka, Teri (Randal) Paulson of Topeka, three grandchildren; Tory, Courtland and Kolby, his mother, Marietta Pagenkopf of Dodge City, and his brother, Dennis (Lois) Pagenkopf of Wichita.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church. Private burial will take place in Mission Center Cemetery. Roger will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604.
