Rodney L. Muñoz, 50, of Topeka, passed away February 3, 2020.
He was born July 28, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Robert "B.J." and Josie (Zuniga) Muñoz. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1987.
He was bartender at Skinny's Bar and Cousin's Club. Most recently he was a sales representative at Laird-Noller Ford Dealership. Rod was a member of the APA Pool League and played darts for the Topeka Dart Association for many years. He was an avid KU, Royals, Notre Dame, Dallas Cowboys fan and was a longtime season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include a son, Blasie "B.J." Muñoz; mother, Josie Muñoz; brothers, Robert, Jr. (Regan) Muñoz, Ryan (Rachel) Muñoz, Rolando (Lesley) Muñoz, Randy Muñoz, Richard Muñoz, step-daughter, Ashley Ortiz, granddaughter, Elena Lopez Ortiz, goddaughter, Taliyah Muñoz, godson, Sebastian Ortiz, godmother, Julie Zuniga and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "B.J." H. Muñoz, godfather, Rudy Zuniga, maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave, Topeka, KS; where a parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
