Rodney Gist

odney V. Gist, 69, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Liberty Missouri hospital. .

He was born November 27, 1934 at Annona, Texas the son of Hayden and Anna (Counts) Gist .

Rodney was a military veteran serving in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Gist was Topeka Poice Officer prior to his long standing career as a court reporter both in Kansas and Missouri.

Mr. Gist was a member of the Masoinc Lodge.

In 1961 he married Thelma M. Kennedy. During their 42 years together, they have lived in various places in Kansas and Missouri. She preceded him in death September 23, 2003.

Survivors include: his children, Rodney V. Gist, Jr., Harrisonville, MO; Tom W. Kennedy, Topeka, KS; Deborah Kennedy-Nix, New Castle, CO; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Gist will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
