Rochelle Marie Bodenheimer, 49, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at her home following a long illness.
Rochelle was born October 10, 1956 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of William F. and Patricia M. Grimmig. She was raised in Russell and moved to Topeka during her senior year. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1974.
Rochelle worked as a paraprofessional at Capital City High School for 11 years. She and her husband owned and operated "Ye Little Olde Chocolate Shoppe" and attended many craft shows in Northeast Kansas. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lake Shawnee Ward.
She married Gary Lee Bodenheimer on July 20, 1974 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter; Ieshia Goodell and husband, Michael, Oskaloosa; two sons, Christopher Bodenheimer and Mark Bodenheimer, both of Topeka; a step-son, Gary Lee and wife, Amy, Topeka; 2 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Judith Tubbs, and husband, John, Parkville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3611 SW Jewell. Rochelle will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
