Robin L. Robinson, 68, of Topeka, KS, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in the company of his family.
Robin was born on March 5, 1953 in Crossville, TN, the third of Bruce and Anna Robinson's four children.
Robin studied at Abilene Christian University (Texas) and the University of Kansas, and worked 34 years with Southwestern Bell (later ATT) as a lineman and fiber optic technician.
On June 9, 1979 he married Lorraine (Sims) Robinson, and they lived 42 years in marriage together in Berryton, KS. He was a strong umbrella to his family through a great many storms.
Robin was known for his magnetic spirit, graciousness, and compassion for all he met. He was active in the Church of Christ, and grasped every moment of human fellowship that he could.
In his retirement, Robin found great joy in the restoration of unlikely antiques, focusing largely on the fabrication of custom lighting. Using glass and porcelain insulators collected over his career and later years, Robin created scores of unique lamps which have been admired and enjoyed by many people. The proceeds of his small business, Robin's Lamps, were given silently to a number of charities across the world.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Roy Dan, and sister Joy Lynn.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine and their son Ian, daughter Andrea, brother Allan and family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends of every kind.
His three grandchildren, Asher, Cameron, and Nora, will miss their grandpa very much.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Penwell-Gabel 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. The family will greet friends and hour prior to the start of the service.
