Roberta Rolley

Roberta Rolley, 68, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at her home.

Roberta was born November 5, 1937 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Larry and June (Adair) Edmisten.

She graduated from North Hollywood High School. She attended Kansas University her junior year of college and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Education.

Roberta taught second and third grades in the Los Angeles Public School System. After moving to Topeka, she was a member of the Topeka Junior League, a docent of the Topeka Zoo, and past President of the Ward Meade Historical Society. Roberta was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Countryside United Methodist Church. She also served as a member of the Staff Parish and World Outreach Committees at Countryside.

Roberta married Don B. Rolley on February 1, 1958 in North Hollywood, California. He survives.

Survivors include two children; Brent A. Rolley, Louisville, Colorado, and Robin E. Bell and husband, Jonathan, Olathe; two grandchildren, Joshua and Noah Bell, Olathe; her father; Lawrence F. Edmisten II, North Hollywood, California; and a brother, Rick Edmisten, Studio City, California. She was preceded in death by her mother, June Edmisten.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Countryside United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Roberta will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
