OBITUARY: Roberta Maxine "Bert" Murren
Roberta M. "Bert" (Barrett) Murren, 80, of Richland entered into eternal rest on Thur. May 1, at her home from an accidental fall. She was born Aug. 16, 1927 in Richland, the oldest child of William "Glenn" and Reata (McCorkle) Barrett. She worked at VanNice Hardware in the 1940's. She married Leroy Vern Murren on June 3, 1946. He survives of the home.
He is also survived by his son and wife - Wayne &LaRae Murren, Lawrence; daughter - Karen Stamey, Decatur, TX; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother - William "Bud" Barrett, Ottawa; 2 sisters - Winona Plummer, LeCompton, Helen May, Scranton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Helm in 2002.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Mon., May 5 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Roberta will lie in state after 3:00PM, Sun., May 4. Family will greet friends 6:00-7:00PM. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita 67211.
