Robert "Scott" Zane, 55, Topeka, passed away November 24, 2012. He was born May 18, 1957, in Carbondale, IL, the son of Benny and Wanda Zielke Zane. He grew up in Hutchinson, KS, and graduated from Nickerson High School in Nickerson, KS. He served in both the United States Army, Navy and later graduated from Hutchinson Community Junior College.
Scott moved to Topeka in 1997, where he worked in construction. On August 20, 2004, Scott married Sue Pitt. Scott very much enjoyed antiques, flea markets, garage sales and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; daughter, Angela (Jason) Zinn and their children, Logan and Nolan, of Derby; mother, Wanda (Bill) Hatcher, of Hutchinson; step-sons, Tim Mitchell, of Topeka and Steve Mitchell, of Detroit; brothers, Frank Kelly (Joy) Zane, of Flower Mound, TX, and James Anthony Zane, of Hutchinson; three step-sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka.
