Bob Wininger, 69, of Ozawkie, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022.
He was born August 7, 1952, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Robert and Olive (Banks) Wininger. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Washburn University.
He was a social worker, working for various organizations throughout his time, both working with adults and children.
Bob was a simple man. He cherished his family, especially his wife, sons and granddaughter. His furry friends, Izzy and Spunky also shared a big spot in his heart.
In Bob's younger years, you could catch him outside playing his favorite sport, baseball. His love for the sport continued when he coached his son's teams at Ken Berry and SCABA and when he played on several adult softball leagues. You could always catch him watching Major League Baseball; his favorite team changed a lot (depending on how they made him feel); his most recent team was the LA Angels.
Bob also enjoyed reading newspapers.
Bob married Laurie Waetzig on August 6, 1983 in the Rose Gardens in Topeka, KS, she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Zac (Rachel Buthorne) Wininger and Eli (Brittany) Wininger; granddaughters, Ava Wininger and Dillon Wininger due to make her appearance in July 2022; sister, Revona Spicuzza; and sister in laws, Valerie (Rick) Williams, Vicki (David) Love, and Lisa Kurinec. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Crestview Shelter House 4901 SW Shunga Dr, Topeka, KS 66614. Lunch will be provided.
