Robert M. "Bob" Scrinopskie, 88, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at a local hospital.
Bob was born April 15, 1919 in Topeka, the son of Myer and Donna (Seff) Scrinopskie. He graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was co-owner of Scrinopskie's and Apollo Mini Storage in Topeka for over 50 years. He was a 60 year member of Orient Lodge #51 AF & AM and Topeka Consistory; and a 33 degree Mason. He was a 60 year member of the Arab Shrine. He served in the Greeters unit. He was a lifetime member of Temple Beth Sholom.
Bob married Virginia "Ginny" Allan on March 22, 1958. She survives. Other survivors include daughters; Barbara Scrinopskie Simpson and husband, Murray, Atherton, CA, Linda Scrinopskie Heath and husband, Charles, Dallas, TX; son, Myles Scrinopskie, Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by a brother, E. Leslie Scrinopskie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Bob will lie in state at the funeral after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
