Robert Schick

Robert W. "Bob" Schick, 90, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at a local hospital.

Bob was born July 7, 1917 in Topeka, the son of William and Ida I. (Pickett) Schick. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1936 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Bob was involved in the real estate business with his mother, Mrs. Wm. Schick and Son Realtors and later Schick Realtors. He was a certified real estate appraiser. He served on the board of directors of the Topeka Realtors for over 21 years and was President of the board in 1951. He was President of Topeka Chapter No. 159 of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers from 1974-75. He was also elected as a director of First State Bank. He served on the board of directors of the YMCA for 9 years.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral since 1924, where he served as junior and senior warden; and the ARAB Shriners, Orient LOdge #51 where he was a member of Greeters and Legion or Honor.


Bob married Henrietta Keller on June 20, 1970. She survives. Other survivors include a step-daughter, Stephanie L. Christy, Topeka; two step-granddaughters, Kristie Campbell, Kansas City, MO, Kelly Horton, Topeka; and two step-great grandchildren, James and Gavin Campbell.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Private family inurnment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum.
