Robert "Bob" Miller, 73, Topeka, passed away on Sept. 2, 2010. He was born June 7, 1937, in Batesburg, South Carolina, the son of Harold McCoy and Cora Faye (Hall) Miller.
Bob was a graduate of Lancaster HS in 1956, attended the University of Houston in 1956-57, Wingate College in 1957-58, majoring in Business Administration. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-61, worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1961-68, was Security Chief for White Lakes from 1968-70, and was with Moorman Buick from 1970-71. Bob made a career with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Dept. from 1971-98.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eileen R. Miller; children, Jeff Miller of Topeka, KS, Rhett Miller of Temecula, CA, Jenny Curry of Topeka, KS, and Mindy Glissman of Wetmore, KS; aunt, Skeet Aber of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers; 4 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
