Robert "B.J." Munoz, Sr., 58, of Topeka, passed away, Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born September 19, 1945 in Topeka the son of Joseph and Loretta (Mendez) Munoz. B. J. was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Sally and Joe Monreal. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Grade School and graduated from Topeka High School.
Mr. Munoz was a military veteran serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a lifetime member of Philip Billard Post #1650 V.F.W. and Local #495 TCU.
He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
B. J. was an active fast pitch softball player and baseball coach. He also was an avid bowler.
Mr. Munoz worked for the BNSF Railroad 36 years until he retired due to disability.
He married Josie Zuniga April 20, 1968 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include:

Six sons, Robert, Jr., Rodney, Ryan and his wife Rachel, Rolando, Randy, and Richard Munoz, all of Topeka.

And two loving grandchildren, Tre and Taliyah Munoz
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Munoz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Munoz will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. and the family will greet friends until 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mr. Munoz's memory may be left at the funeral home.
