Robert Lewis Morris, Sr., 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully of heart failure at a Topeka hospital on Jan. 11, 2005. He was born Sept. 28, 1926 in Little Rock Ark., the son of Benjamin and Lucille Roberts Morris. He had lived in Kansas City, MO since 1946, when he graduated from Missouri School for the Deaf. He retired as a carpenter/cabinet maker. He was a lifetime member of the Greater Kansas City Association for the Deaf where he played, coached and sat on the committee of various sporting teams including basketball and softball. He was a well respected member of the deaf community and was loved by friends and family afar. He is survived by three children, Carolyn Jean Hans of Topeka, KS; Rose Ann Prail of Omaha, NE and Robert Lewis Morris, Jr. of Fulton, MO; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lee Prail, Pamela Ann Duncan, Richard Lee Jeffries, Jr., Jason Wade Morris, Misty Dawn Morris and Jamila Crystal Morris; as well as four great-grandchildren, Kayla LeeAnn Duncan, Kamisha DeeAnn Duncan, Jacob Jeffrey Prail, and Riley Vincent Prail; also his niece Sharon Kwiat of Walnut Grove, CA. His wishes were to be cremated and the remains spread over his parents grave sites in Warrensburg, MO. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
