Robert L. Wagstaff, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born April 25, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Malcolm and Agnes Swanson Wagstaff. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Robert married Alice Mae Ericson in Minneapolis, MN. She preceded him in death in 1970. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys, Malcolm, Betty Jane, Tevis, Patricia and Richard. He later married Karen Grau Slattery on April 22, 2001 in Topeka. She survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Gregory Kirk Wagstaff (Kathy), Debra Lynn Olsen (Neils), Rebecca Lauber Sasser (Mark), step-son, Sean Slattery (Amy), ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother, Thomas Wagstaff and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park in St. Louis, MO. Burial will follow. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 712 S.
