Robert Eugene Kaul, 66, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at a local hospital.
Mr. Kaul was born December 9, 1938 in Topeka, the son of Eugene and Velma Jaobson Kaul.
Upon graduation from Topeka High School, he began working for Dale Sharp Motors as a mechanic. He joined the Kansas National Guard in 1959. He was a key member of the Marksmanship Program at Nichols Barracks in Salina. He became a Civil Service technician with the Kansas National Guard in 1957 and served as a truck driver delivering supplies to National Guard units thoughout Kansas. He retired in 1993.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved all types of sports.
He was married to Nancy Pock, they later divorced. He married Patricia Rowell on December 29, 1990. She survives. Other survivors include a son: Korey Kaul of Lawrence and a daughter, Kathleen Hausthor of Topeka, and two grandsons. Four step daughters: Kelly Happel, Judy Kulick, Diane Wierwelle, Kathy Jackson, Wichita; and two step sons: Frank Rowell and Patrick Barber, Wichita; Thirteen stepgrandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and a sister: Judee Callihan, Kansas City, KS.
Graveside services will be held at Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th, Topeka at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January29, 2005. Mr. Kaul will lie in state after 12:00 noon on Friday and visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka.
