Robert L. Grienke, 85, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
He was born January 9, 1932, in, Paxico, Kansas, the son of Gus and Euvera (Butifish) Grienke.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a truck driver for Wilson's Freight, retiring after over 29 years. After he retired, he owned and operated Guarantee Tree Service and drove part time for Jones Truck Line.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Philip Billard Post No. 1650.
Robert married Donna Pearce on December 3, 1953 in Foster's Church, Topeka, KS. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents and great-great grandson, Lucas Bumgarner.
Survivors include his children: Marvin Grienke, Penny Cunningham, Sandra Tye and Mark Grienke; three grandchildren: Randy "Tony" Grienke (Sabrina), Shane Cunningham, Stephanie Cunningham; seven great-grandchildren: Erica and Mary Willige, Sierra and Jada Cunningham, Samantha Grienke and John, Jr. and Taylor Morgan and two siblings: Arlene and Dean.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment with military honors will follow at Auburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
