Robert Edwin (Bob) Finley Sr, 84, of Topeka, passed away August 26, 2021. Bob was born June 4, 1937 in Topeka a son of James Finley and Gertrude (Hall) Finley
Survivors include sons, Robert Finley Jr. and Michael Finley, daughters Patty Paulsen (Rusty) and Penny Finley-Weckwerth (Randy); Brother James Finley and sisters Irene Morris and Kathleen Poole; grandsons and many great grandchildren; step-daughters Theresa Criswell, Vicki Casto and Sherri Jones and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlsia Finley and step-daughter Pamela Mounkes.
Bob graduated from Highland Park High School and proudly served in the United Stated Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. He was a radio technician within the air anti-submarine squadron thirty. He was honored to have served in the Navy and often talked of his military experiences. Bob worked many years for TRW and IBM then became self-employed owning the County Brass and B&C contractor. Bob enjoyed visiting with family and friends, working in his garden, barbequing and watching NASCAR races.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. The family will go in formal procession to Zion Cemetery in Tecumseh, Kansas for a graveside service with military honors.
