Robert Louis Eggold of Topeka, KS entered eternal life on Monday, November 5. Bob was born in Lincoln NE on June 27, 1927, to Rev. Henry John Eggold and Helen Marie (Burdorf) Eggold.
A graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School, River Forest , IL and Concordia Lutheran College, River Forest, (now Concordia University-Chicago). Bob received a Masters in Education Administration from the University of Michigan.
Devoting his life to the service of the Lord, he held several positions in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He served as Assistant to the President of the Kansas District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, where he was responsible for education, youth ministry and church growth. He was cofounder of the Kansas Association of Independent and Religious Schools, and founder of five Lutheran schools, in which he served as principal and teacher.
Bob also served on the boards of directors of several Lutheran educational organizations, including the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church, Milwaukee Lutheran High School Association and the Detroit Lutheran High School Association. His deep love of music led him to serve as the organist and choir director for several Lutheran churches during his career. He organized the Topeka Lutheran Fine Arts Council and Friends of Washburn Music.
In 1955, Bob married Elaine Luecke at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, IL. He is survived by his loving wife and their three sons,: Brian Robert, of Lenexa, Mark William, of Williamsburg, and David Paul (Judy) and grandchildren Ben Eggold and Kristina (Dammon) Cain of Everett, WA.
Bob was preceded in death by siblings Lois Helen, Ruth Nyhof, Rev. Dr. Elmer (Ruth), Rev. Dr. Henry John II, and Gerhard Louis. He is survived by his sister Helen Paul, and brothers Frederick (Elfrieda), and Rev. Paul (Suzanne) and sister-in-law Madalene (Branthorst) Eggold. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends during a visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel.
