Robert E. "Bob" Kinder, 77, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at a local hospital.
Bob was born October 26, 1934 in Moline, the son of George and Elizabeth (Beechner) Kinder. He graduated from Moline High School in 1952.
He was employed by the State of Kansas for over 40 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers Association.
Bob married Flossie R. Kuntz on December 16, 1956 in Udall. She died August 29, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a son, Sam; and brother, Bill Kinder. Survivors include children: Brenda Davis, Douglass, KS; Steven E. Kinder and Joyce Dutton, Concordia, KS; Robert R. Kinder and wife, Kelley, Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jim Kinder and wife, Ann, Emporia, KS; special friend, Joyce Royer, Valley Falls, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, KS. Bob will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers Association or the American Diabetes Association.
