Robert Glenn Dallas, 82, died May 14, 2023. He was born to Harold Dallas and Lois (Little) Dallas Miller, May 4, 1941, north of Harveyville, Kansas.
Bob was raised by his mother and step-father, Jesse Lee Miller, in Topeka where he attended Topeka High School. Bob completed his GED and enlisted in the US Navy with his older brother, Jerry. After serving four years in the Navy, Bob returned to Topeka where he worked at Adam's Business Forms and later Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He married Lila (Faust) Teel August 23, 1970, and later adopted Lila's two daughters, Tammy and Pamela. Bob and Lila added two more daughters, Corrie and Lisa, to their family. Bob graduated from Washburn University in 1976 with a Bachelor's degree in history. After receiving his degree from Washburn, Bob worked for the State of Kansas Department of Revenue in Topeka. In 1977, Bob went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. While with the IRS, Bob worked in Salina; Wichita; Washington, DC; and Des Moines, IA. He was a collection group manager in Des Moines when he retired in 2003. After retirement, Bob and Lila moved to Watauga, TX for a brief time before returning to Kansas where they purchased an 80-acre farm outside of Frankfort. Bob's hobbies were working hard, building houses, and reading. During his lifetime, Bob built houses in three different communities: Culver, KS; New Virginia, IA; and Frankfort, KS. He was always assisted by his wife, Lila, and occasionally by his daughters, their husbands and children. Bob's idea of having family fun was often spent working together on a construction or home improvement project.
Bob is survived by his wife; four daughters, Tammy (Dale) Doll, Lawrence, KS, Pamela Bruneau, Eagle River, AK, Corrie (Aaron) Meis, Marion, IA, and Lisa (Kalvin) Young, Anchorage, AK; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jesse "Danny" Miller, Topeka, KS and one sister, Betty Jo Montague, Hoyt, KS.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry Dallas and Paul Miller, and sister, Karen Brooks.
Visitation 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 22, 2023 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Funeral Service 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Lowman United Methodist Church, 4101 SW 15th St, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Interment to follow funeral Service at Lynn Creek Cemetery, 2400 SE 61st St., Berryton, Ks 66409.
