Robert D. Couch, 76, of Topeka, formerly of Dodge City, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born September 20, 1930 in Peterton, KS, the son of Lincoln C. and Lois M. Bennett Couch.
He was raised in Topeka and was a 1949 graduate of Highland Park High School. He served with the U.S. Army 84th Engineer Contruction Battalion in the Korean Conflict, receiving his honorable discharge in 1954. He worked for the Santa Fe Railway in the Purchases Dept. for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ.
He married Betty Clark on June 27, 1954 at Akron, OH. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons: David (Susan), Smithville, MO, Martin (Lynn), Topeka and Dean (Nancy), Ottawa, KS; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Mr. Couch was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Quivira Heights Church of Christ.
