Rita Pauline Lomax Wiese Barnett left this world in peace on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009. She was born November 21, 1915 in Cawker City, KS, the daughter of Norval and Lillian (Henning) Lomax.

Rita was a secretary for the Selective Service in Topeka. She was married to Theodore W. Wiese. She later married Chester W. Barnett. Rita was a member of The Rock Hounds Kansas Mineral and Gem Society and NARFE.

Survivors include her daughters, Karlene Wiese, New York, NY; Shirley Burniston, Topeka, KS; and Jean Espinoza, Topeka, KS; Step-children, Patsy Ann Wittenbach, Topeka, KS; Diane Ahlvers, Frankfort, KS; Ruth A. Sherer, Topeka, KS; William C. Barnett, Orofino, ID; and Herman Wiese, his wife, Lisha and their family, Cawker City, KS; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, Theodore Wiese, her siblings and a great granddaughter Alexa Maria Burniston.

Mrs. Barnett will lie in state after noon on Saturday, May 2 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 S Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
