Richard Charles Wolf, nicknamed, "Ritchie", 61-years-old, passed away on Friday morning, February 3, 2017 at Tanglewood Nursing home, Topeka, KS, under the care of Heartland Hospice. The cause of death was natural causes.
Richard was born December 20, 1955 in Galveston, Texas to Herman and Bettye Wolf. At age ten, he moved to Topeka, Kansas with his family. Richard graduated from Topeka West High with a wrestling scholarship. He also played football in high school. His interests and hobbies included rooting for his K-State football team, wrestling, playing softball, and attending First Lutheran church. Richard had a kind and generous nature.
Richard is survived by his son, Brian and daughter-in-law Stephanie, son Brandon and daughter-in-law Hillary; grandchildren, Carlin, Cody, Evan, Allan, Hailey; his father Herman Wolf; his sisters, Cheryl Lynn and Carol Dale; and nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his mother, Bettye Wolf; paternal grandparents, Otto and Viola Wolf; maternal grandparents, Jack and Alma Michaels; and his nephew, Scott Lynn.
Richard was proud to work as a manager for Cracker Barrel for many years, where he would often volunteer to help with the set-up and opening of new stores.
Memorial service for Richard will be held on Thursday, Feb 9th at 10:00am at Penwell Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th St, Topeka, KS 66604. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
The family welcomes donations to the Diabetes Foundation and Heartland Hospice.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Tanglewood Nursing home and Heartland Hospice for their care of Richard. Richard was known for cheering on his team with a strong, "Go 'cats!"
