Richard P. Oliver, 73, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016. He was born August 16, 1943, in Newport News, Virginia, the son of Nelson and Thelma (Robertson) Oliver.
Richard was an Army veteran serving three years during the Vietnam Era and retired from the 190th Airwing Security Force at Forbes Field. He worked as a photographer for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and the KBI in Kansas. Richard was a member of West Side Christian Church in Topeka.
Survivors include a son, James N. Oliver; and mother, Thelma Oliver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jacobia; and daughter, Betty Jo Oliver.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
