Richard P. Bogia, 54, Topeka, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Health Center.
Richard was born October 4, 1960 in Kansas City, KS, the son of B. Preston and Lois (Tinklenberg) Bogia. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1980.
He attended Grace Point Church. He loved technology, flying kites, anything that flies, puns, sharing random funny thoughts, video games, letting his Kindle read to him, building models, and designing art with his applications and music. He was very patriotic and loved the color red.
He was a dedicated employee of Kansas Neurological Institute and had been employed by the State of Kansas for over 31 years.
Richard married Lawanna Renfro-Ford on January 1, 2005. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Lois Bogia, Topeka; brother, Doug Bogia and wife, Cathy, Forest Grove, OR; nieces, Babetta and Katrina; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Grace Point Church. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.
