Richard M. Hill

Richard M. Hill, 64, of Overbrook, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on August 4, 1944 in Avondale, MO, the son of Ray M. and Mildred Swafford Hill. He obtained his GED at Topeka High School. He was employed by Archer Daniel Midland, the Rosco Pipe Company and Cargill Flour Mill Company for many years before retiring in 2007. Richard married Charlene L. Crady on June 7, 1964 in Overbrook. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Clifford M. (Sherry) Hill of Overbrook, Steve J. Hill of Topeka, two grandchildren, Ceria and Cody, one brother, Ray M. Hill, Jr. of Lawrence, six half-brothers, Glen Johnston, Jim Johnston, John Johnston, Ronny Johnston, Billy Joe Johnston, Sammy Johnston, Harley Hill and two half-sisters, Cecilia Edwards and Elsa Pitts. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Richland Cemetery.
