Richard L. Howey

Richard L. Howey, 74 of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Topeka, passed away, Friday, May 2, 2008 in Henderson, NV. He was born on June 30, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Howard and Clara Bullock Howey. Richard owned and operated Howey's Restaurant and Omelette Annies. He was a member of the Moose Club. After retiring in 1997, he and his wife moved to Arizona. Richard married Martha Ann Martin on April 27, 1956. They were married 52 years. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Susan Eubanks of Henderson, NV, one son, Rick L. Howey of Topeka, two grandchildren, Shane and Cristina, two great-grandchildren, Angie and Tristan, four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Richard will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross, 1221 S.W. 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
