Richard Jordan

Richard A. "Rick" Jordan passed away June 20, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.

He was born October 16, 1953 in Topeka the son of Louis and Juanita Jordan. He was the grandson of D.T. and Hazel Jordan of Glasco, Kansas. He attended schools in Topeka graduating from Topeka West High School. He was also a graduate of the Beloit Technical School in Heavy Equipment Operation and Mechanics.

He worked for various construction firms before settling on a career in constructing high voltage power lines.

Rick was a hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and was a true woodsman. Turkey and deer hunting were especially important to him. He was a founding member of the Kansas Wild Turkey Federation and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Juanita Jordan. He is survived by his wife Suzanne; his aunt, Mary Carnie; his uncle, Linn (Hazel) Morrow and many relatives and friends. Also surviving are his brothers, Larry (Christine) of Topeka and Randy (Margaret) Cork, Ireland; nephews, David Lindstrom, Brian Jordan and niece Jennifer Spagneola.

Cremation is planned. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 24, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
