Richard E. "Dick" Streeter, 75, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010.
Richard was born August 28, 1935, in Parsons, the son of Edgar and Vinita (Hughes) Streeter. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1954.
He worked for the State of Kansas for 36 years with 26 years as a Water Pollution Control Technician with the Department of Health and Environment, retiring in 1996. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard for 9 years.
He coached little league baseball in the Highland Park summer baseball league for many years.
Richard was united in marriage to Vera Wolf on August 30, 1958, in Topeka.
Richard is survived by his wife, Vera; children, Barry Gene (Dolly) Streeter, Chesterfield, MO, Troy Lynn Streeter, Topeka, Stacey Lee (Kelly) Streeter, Kansas City, KS, Kelly Dean (Michele) Streeter, Salina; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nancy Streeter.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Richard will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka; where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Center Drive, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
