Richard Henry Busche

Richard Henry "Dick" Busche, 90, of Topeka, passed away on April 25, 2018. Dick was born in Seward, Nebraska on December 3, 1927 to the late Henry F. Busche, Jr. and Eloise (Tebbetts) Busche. He graduated from Seward High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He married Lois Zabel in Cook, NE on February 15, 1953. She preceded him in death in 1999.

Dick was employed for 39 years by Beatrice Foods Co. as an Accountant and Office Manager in the Meadow Gold Dairy Division. He started work in Lincoln, and then in Norfolk, NE from 1951 to 1967, and in Topeka until his retirement in 1987. While in Norfolk, he served as Treasurer for St. John's Lutheran Church during their new building campaign. In Topeka he belonged to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed 50 years of worship and fellowship.

He was a Brewster Connect member and enjoyed friends and activities at Brewster Place. His hobbies included following financial markets, collecting stock certificates, reading biographies, and attending concerts and plays. He also helped to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Dick is lovingly remembered by his daughter Karen and son-in-law Doug Eby; son Greg and daughter-in-law Kathleen Busche; granddaughters Lauren and Taryn Eby; grandsons Garrett (Regan) and Griffin Busche; great-granddaughter Emery Busche; and sister-in-law Leola (Dale) Janssen.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (2021 SW 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66611). Graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery will follow at 1:30 p.m.
