Richard Allen "Rick" Rindt, 65, of Maple Hill, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012.
He was born November 28, 1946 in Fort Sill, OK, the son of Waldemar Erhart and Iola Irene (Ozbun) Rindt.
He graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry at the Kansas State University. He was a member of the Kansas State Livestock Judging Team.
Rick served in the U.S. Army from September 28, 1968 until September 27, 1970. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 DVC and two overseas bars.
Mr. Rindt worked for the Department of Agriculture from February 16, 1971 to, June 27, 1971. Rick retired January 1, 2002, from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he was a Special Agent.
He found great joy in his family and grandchildren. He especially loved working on his farm.
Richard married Cindy Hayes in Eureka Springs, AR. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Ryan and Ron (Pam) Rindt of Topeka, step-daughters, Christy (Billy) Jenkins, Gulf Breeze, FL and Kimberly (Benny) Weatherford of Topeka; a step-son, Shannon (Megan) Caudill of Topeka and eight grandchildren, Anna and Hope Jenkins, Brantley and Synthia Caudill, Cameron Schuetz, Brandon and Cole Ridgway, and Nicholas Rindt.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Keene Cemetery, west of Dover, KS. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
