Reva Nell May, 73, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at her home.
She was born on January 10, 1933 in Alfalfa, OK, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Reid) King. She graduated from Alfalfa High School in 1952 and received her teaching degree in 1956 from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. Recently, she attended her 50 year college reunion.
Reva taught elementary school in Putnam City, OK and Lafayette Elementary School in Topeka, KS.
She was united in marriage to Robert E. May on July 1, 1967 at First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, KS. He survives.
Reva was a member of First Southern Baptist Church since 1959. She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Iota, Christian Women's Club, Active Prime Timers, and Joy In The Morning Ladies Group at FSBC.
Other surviving members of her family include a daughter, Mary Nell Kennedy and her husband, Marshall, a son, David May, one granddaughter, Kelly May Kennedy, four sisters, and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 22nd at First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 S.W. Gage, Topeka. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum. She will lie in state after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will welcome friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening at the church in the Fellowship Hall.
