Reva Elaine Ellis was born on September 3, 1941, in Ellsworth, Kansas to Roy and Marie Webb. In 1961 she met Ray G. Ellis, it was love at first sight for Reva and Ray. They enjoyed a lasting romance as best friends, and as husband and wife for over 63 years. On November 23, 2024, at her residence and surrounded by her husband and daughters, Reva went peacefully to be with her Lord. Reva was a loving and compassionate lady, devoted to her husband and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and Grammy to her family.
As a young lady Reva was crowned, Honored Queen, in Job’s Daughters, a place of responsibility she had worked hard to attain. In her Topeka High art class, Reva designed and created beautiful jewelry, including stunning rings and other pieces. She was very gifted at sketching and art and would put her talents to use in her church Sunday School classes, or when she helped her girls with school projects. She also had a unique talent for making gorgeous ribbon rose bouquets for gift packages. It became her signature on every gift she gave.
In Topeka she and Ray worked together to have a house built and to build sandstone rock retaining walls and flower beds. In Albuquerque years later they designed and built their beautiful dream home at the base of the Sandias mountains. Reva loved flower gardening. She was in an Iris club in both Edmond and Albuquerque. She always made sure to take a start of her favorite Iris with her whenever she and Ray moved to a new home. In Tennessee, she and Ray designed and created amazing terraced brick pathways in their backyard with a variety of flowering shrubs and colorful flowers.
Reva was beautiful, loving, fun, joyful, witty, and talented. Her smile and presence would always light up the room. Even during trying times she never complained. She would often join in the conversation which would catch everyone off guard with a witty comment, which left everyone laughing. Her deep love for Ray was evident to all. The family will always treasure loving memories of Reva and Ray - as a couple, as parents, grandparents and Grammy and Gramps. Their love for each other was undeniable. They were inseparable, always holding hands, always living life together. God gave Ray to Reva as her angel on earth and Reva was the angel from God to Ray as well. Throughout her forty years struggling with the effects of MS, Ray committed himself to her care, and often sought out treatments when doctors had no more to offer. As mom became less able to get around, she would lovingly whistle a gentle tune for dad, to which he would lovingly whistle his response and then come to assist and reassure her. Nightly they affirmed their enduring love, “I’m going to love you for ever and ever; tonight, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow… I’m going to love you forever.”
The family rejoices knowing Reva’s other great love is Jesus. She now resides with Him, experiencing joy and complete healing. They look forward to the day they are reunited. While she will be deeply missed, they thank the Lord for blessing their lives with the rich love of Reva.
Reva was proceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Marie Webb, and beautiful two-year old daughter, Cory Rechel Ellis. Reva is survived by her loving husband, Ray Ellis and daughters, Kelly (Brett) Eisenman, Rhea (Mike) Stuart, and Renee (David) Mares; her brother, Steve Webb (Sharon), along with 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 niece.
