Rev. Harold Tucker was born on October 10th, 1930, in Hornell, New York, passed away September 27th, 2010, at 1:11 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Faye Tucker, Parkville, MO; three sons, Tim and his wife, Terry Tucker, Caney, KS, Dana and his wife, Gayla Tucker, Sacramento, CA, and Sam and his wife, Sandy Tucker, Topeka, KS; three daughters, Debbie and her husband, Rick Haukenberry, Parkville, MO, Michelle and her husband, Tom Morgan, Topeka, KS and Christy and her husband, Matt Paul, Wichita, KS; one brother, Richard Tucker of Easton, PA and his wife, CeCe Tucker; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and an abundant amount of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews in addition to other family and many loving and caring friends.
Rev. Harold Tucker served as a Baptist Minister in New York at various churches and at Seward Avenue Baptist Church in Topeka, KS for over 30 years. Rev. Tucker retired to Sedan, KS in 1997 and continued to pastor on a substitute basis at the First Baptist Church in Sedan. He also served as a substitute pastor at the First Baptist Church in Moline, Kansas and at the First Southern Baptist Church in Chautauqua, Kansas. Their time in Sedan was one where many friendships were made and where he could be observed working in his garden spot. In 2003 Harold and Faye sold their home in Sedan and moved to Parkville, Mo to live with their daughter and son-in-law, the Haukenberrys. He was a member of the Northland Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. Rev. Tucker, at 16, was the youngest person to receive a private pilot license in the state of New York. Rev. Tucker loved the Word and devoted his life to serving the Lord.
Visitation will be on Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of Life graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr, Ste LL15, Topeka, KS 66604.
