Raymond Edward Putnam, 85, Topeka, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2005 at Midland Hospice Care.
Raymond was born March 7, 1920 in Natoma, the son of William C. and Sadie Cooley Putnam.
He graduated from Stockton High School in 1938.
Raymond was a Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Beatrice Foods after 35 years of service.
Raymond was an active member of University United Methodist Church, and the Good Sam's and Holiday Rambler's RV clubs.
He married Eunice Elaine Buttle on August 13, 1944 in Topeka. She died April 21, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters: Cecelia Ann Cole and companion, Bob Papke, Milwaukee, OR, Vicki Gayle Waymire and husband, Patrick, Page, AZ; two sons: William R. Putnam and wife Linda, and Donald L. Putnam and wife Julie, all of Topeka; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and companion, Nola Carter.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 19, 2005 at University United Methodist Church. Raymond will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel on Thursday, and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
