Raymond LeRoy Triggs, 58, of Topeka, left this life to be with Our Lord on Friday, June 23, 2006 at his residence. He was born on November 5, 1947 in Emporia, the son of Charles E. and Myrtle M. Gunkel Triggs. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1965 and attended Pittsburg State College for two years. He started his printing career in February of 1967 with Jostens Printing & Publishing Yearbook division. He was drafted into the Army in August of 1967. He was stationed in Germany as an M.P. Stockade Guard for 18 months. While he was there, his father passed away. After being honorably discharged from the service, he resumed his position at Jostens as a Journeyman Pressman. He was a member of the Printers Pressman Union, GCC-IBT Local No. 49C for over 38 years. He was a member of Moto Guzzi National Owners Club, a member of Abate of KS, a member of Honda Riders of America, The American Legion of Emporia and the First United Methodist Church of Emporia. Survivors include one son, Travis Triggs, one daughter, Tera Triggs, two grandsons, Ethan and Nathan all of Topeka, one brother, Charles E. Triggs, Jr. of Newton, two nieces, Nicole and Molly of Houston, TX, one nephew, Trey of Wichita, a close cousin, Gloria Chesher of Topeka and a female companion, Dayle Herschell. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Graveside committal services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fowler- Hunt Cemetery in Emporia. Raymond will lie in state 1:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m Monday evening.
