Raymond Dale Mundy, 58, of Carbondale, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from injuries sustained in a car pedestrian accident.
He was born June 7, 1947 in Burlingame, Kansas, the son of Jesse and Eva (Saffle) Mundy.
He was a 1966 graduate of Wichita East High School. He entered the Navy immediately after high school and was stationed aboard the USS Howard D. Crow. He was honorably discharged in 1967 and relocated to Warren, MA. He worked in manufacturing plants on the East Coast. He returned to Kansas in 1994 and was employed at the Goodyear Plant in Topeka. He was an avid fan of word puzzles of all kinds. His prior hobbies included fishing, carpentry and card games.
He married Donna Lee Beaudry on June 6, 1970 in Massachusetts. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Mundy and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mundy and Joyce Diecker.
Survivors include his mother, Eva Mundy of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Rebecca LaPier and her husband Mark of Ozawkie, KS, Danielle Mundy-Armstrong of Plattsburgh, NY; two sons, Jess Mundy of Plattsburgh, NY and Brandon Bedard of Champlain, NY; one granddaughter, Celeste Armstrong, Plattsburgh, NY; one brother and sister in law, Jess and Carol Mundy, four sisters and brothers in law, Evelyn Williams, Judy and Rod Billings, Lillian and Percy Clapp, Kathy and Steve Mizer, and his close, personal friend, Judy Kurtz.

Mr. Mundy will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation with memorial services to be held 11:00 a.m., Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the funeral home.
