Raymond Dwight Curtis
Raymond Dwight Curtis, 83, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at his home in Topeka. Raymond was born on June 15, 1921, in Consul, Iowa, to Grant and Ethel Watkins Curtis. He graduated from Russell High School in Russell, Iowa. He has been a Topeka resident for 38 years. He was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. He began working for Wilson Foods in 1950 as a sales representative and retired in 1982. He married Margaret Milleson on May 31, 1942. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jean Curtis; and a brother, Elmo Curtis. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Curtis, Topeka; two sons, Dr. Eugene Curtis and his wife, Denice, Topeka, and Phil Curtis and his wife, Angie, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Peggy Morris and her husband, David, Brentwood, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Mount Hope Ceme tery. Mr. Curtis will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 S.W.
